i think that the best player is ma lin because he is so smart and fast too.

It is difficult to run contrary to the results players achieve in match play and this would clearly point to Ma Lin and Wang Liqin as the best players currently.

When I first saw Ma i thought, i wish i could play like that, so much variety in technique and tactics, and so quick, my goodness!

liqin is solid in the top spin play, not so much variety as ma, but so dominant in power play.

ma long continues to impress and may be the up and coming player for the near future, we will see.

I think boll is as good as it gets for the euro players, while samsonov is very good he seems less likely to gain a victory against the top chinese compared to boll. I would also like to gain a better insight to the play of ovtcharov who seems to leave the table too soon but looks to have potential, and suss who does not leave the table so soon, yet may lack the sophistication to ever challenge the top chinese

hoi all

it's hard to say which one is the best.

one of the greatest is waldner even he plays currently not so strong as in the past.

I like the style of hou yingchao very much and for me he's the greatest defender I've ever seen.

ma lin is one of the smartest player I've ever seen.

wang liqin is one of those with the best condition and mind.

kreanga has the greatest bh loop I've ever seen

and so on...

every of these players has his own strengths and is unique. a good player has an indivdual style and charisma.

hi, I think that you both are right but my favorite player is Chen Qi because he is
the ultimate attacking player with the most powerful topspins ever.when starts to
attack no one can stop him.

good answers about that. I think its important to keep a view to the younger players like Jun Mizutani (he became youngest japanese Champion ever, this year), Ovtcharov (germann youngster), Patrick Baum (became youth world champion 2005).

Actually, It'is hard to say who is the best, Ma Lin, Wang Liqin, Wang Hao, Timo Boll and maybe Ma Long (too young) have the same skill, every body can beat every body . But The Best Player for ever was Waldner .

Hi There

Jan-Ove Walder will be the Master of Table Tennis forever!!! A few days agoe I saw him live at a table tennis show with his friend Jörgen Persson. What a experience to see him live and talk a few words with him!

Yesterday a saw a video from the olympic games in Athen when he played against Timo Boll! At this time, Waldner was alreay 39 years old...! What a great player and Table Tennis genius! We all will miss him, when he stopps playing!

I don't know who is the best,but i very like Timo Boll because he have very good topspin and very beautiful play..timo my legend in table tennis...;)Wnag Liqin is good player,but Timo play beautiful with him.Shlager i don;t like when he play,but he and is legend in table tennis..I very like when play Europian player...I don't like Chine,but in Chine is very mach good player.

Observing the play at the past world championship, it is clear that Wang Liqin is the best all around player in the world. The unique combination of both his mental strength and physical skills is unmatched by anyone. Wang Hao and Ma Lin are probably the next best followed by Timo Boll, Ryu Seung Ming, Hao Shai, and Vladamir Samsonov. Why Ryu Seung Ming the olympic champion (04') and semifinalist of the 2007 World Championship is not on this list I don't know (probably it was a mistake).
