Hi Sota,..
Thanks a lot for your suggestion,.. What you have mentioned is very true. I always notice, that after my heavy chop (in returning his heavy loop), he usually just put the ball near the table or give a weaker topspin coz he knows that my attack is not so good. I will try to move more quickly and manage to improve my attack.

Yes, over the table we can make wery heavy chops with our slower rubbers, and then we can have wery much attack chances, bcoz wery often attackers have difficulties to control these difficult chops really well and they gives us relativelly easy attackable balls. Our attacks with long pips, anti rubbers or with short pips are wery difficult, too. I agree, is a good idea that after a wery good, heavy chop to run quickly near the table and to make a decisive attack when ur opponent gives a weaker ball, and if he make a good shot,u can made a dropshot.

Do you use your block? Near the table you can block aggresivly sometimes and after a good chop. I use long pips and some time ago I used to block. Now I'm trying to use my pips for attackyng.

Hi Fotta,..
Yeah, sometimes after returning his loop with a chop, I block his next (weaker) loop above the table with my inverted, but his returning loop still has quite amount of topspin, which I sometimes misjudge, and the ball just pops out of his end of table or goes into the net...
Any suggestion how to block effectively (using inverted) against this loop ? thanks a lot...
Best wishes,

Personally I avoid to block weaker loops. The other player is near the table and he easy can make an 2nd attempt for both sides of the table. My reflexes are not that good, specially if he catch me near the table or moving back.
I prefer return the service or push the ball for the angles forcing the opponent to move from the center of the table, then I stay ready & steady to block for the other side... Sometimes works :) Anyway, I use the block just to surprise and create insecureness.

Hi Sota,
I am not good in blocking above the table,.. cause I find it quite difficult to judge the amount of topspin from the other player's loop, so I might mistakenly angle my blade. I have seen your video against a young player who constantly attacked,.. Your defense, especially the bh chop and foot work is so good. I have to learn and practice a lot to improve my foot work and attack...

Perhaps watching (I mean really watching) some videos. I suggest some of the best women defense players, as the ball stay longer on the table, is slower and the foot work is more clear. Beside this they are better defensive players than men, at least in the classic way.

They (women) aren't better, the problem is that men are quite better than women in table tennis. The speed above all. Women can chop slow top-spins, but between men, it is a bit more difficult. Classical defenders like Matsushita or Ntaniel (greece) are quite strange people in high level.

Greetings
Still about men vs women. There are some important differences, that give better performance to men when you talk about speed and this has nothing to do with reflexes. If I say women chop better is because they are more consistent, they put more balls on the table.
Think about chop some slow top-spins, one after other, and then we can compare how long does the rally take...
I say women have better ability to chop in the same way I say men have better ability to make top spin. Exceptions? For sure there are some...
I dissagree. The men's chop is quite different because men's top-spin is different. Ntaniel or Evgueni (Belarus) play chopping and chopping again, but they loose more than women. They have to chop less near the table than women, or to chop chopped balls, but that's because the male players game. I don't think Chtchinine is worse than another female chopper, chopping slow balls, for example.

Greetings

That´s ok! Have the same opinions could be as boring as if all players should play in the same way :D

I like Jang Song Man, he is wery fast, his match with Cheung Yuk ( see the video in this site!) is fantastic. I like all moderne aggressive defenders, between them i think Weixing Chen is the most aggressive.
