hi

I like to chop with long pips with grip like the chinese rubbers. I play myself RITC 837 Mystery and I'm very happy with that cool allround pips.

Hi Jack,

Chen Weixing plays with a "TSP Curl P1r" with 1,0mm Sponge.

Joo Sea Hyuk plays an "Butterfly Feint Long II" (Not III) with 1,3mm Sponge.

Chen plays with Butterfly Feint II. I also thought he played with Curl, but I know Ferenc Karsai, the Austrian Team Coach, as I've trained with him in Hungary every August for the last 3 years. When I suggested Chen plays with Curl, he said, "Chen plays with Feint II. I should know, I'm his coach!"

I played with Armstrong Rosin for many years. Great for block and lifting the balls. Now i have changed to
DR. Neubauer Pistol. Absolutely great for block and hard shots. Its also possible to lift the balls with it! Also the Xiom Stynx ist very cool for attack. With this pips, you can attacl also with a lot of spin. I change between Neubauer Pistol and Xiom Stynx.

Teh best rubber is Curl P1, but it is very difficult to use pretty well. On the other hand, Feint Long III has a very good control.

I am really struggling with choosing my pips. I used Feint Long II 1.3 mm for some years now and I recently tried the Curl P1r with 1.0 mm, it's a very good pimple to. And my opponents all say that it's more disturbing and spinnier when I chop.

However, I always liked to hit with my BH, and I insist not doing it with my pips, I just think one does not do that, (especially with the Curl 1.0 mm) so 'till some time ago I twiddled my bat for attack with BH and spin variety. I don't twiddle anymore, because I find it more difficult for myself since I started playing with a Friendship 729 FX 2.0 on the forehand. When I saw players like Ding Song, Hou Yingchao and recently the female Li Qian (all defence with short pimples) I really would like to try some short pimples that I can chop and attack with. But I wouldn't know which one are suitable for that?

If anybody could help me out, you're most welcome :)

Well, you can attack with long pimples, why not? They are a bit slow, but you can hit the ball. Curl p1r is a bit faster than feint III and it is good producing disturbing balls, but feint III has more control, you can put the balla where you want. Now I'm trying feint III and Tackiness drive 1,7 without speed glue. The first impression is that I can Attack and counter attack better than with 1,5 drive, and chop with hight amounts of backspin. In the backhand I have more trouble. Curl is faster than feint III, and I can't chop like I used to do it, but the ball floats and makes strange things in the air. With Feint III the ball used to be predictable.

Greetings!!
